4-pli

4-pli is a young architectural firm based in williamsburg. I love their Puzzle Conference Table, it's made of seven individual desks that puzzle together to make a large conference table. I can't imagine any shady deals happening around this baby- it's too nice for that. 4-pli makes an effort to participate in the whole process from the paper to the finished product- which must be satisfying, when the products come out this nice.

Salta Kvarn

Have you ever, I mean EVER, seen such beautiful packaging on beans and flour? And even better it's from the ecological and biodynamic foodproducer Salta Kvarn, who has been spreading their wonderful swedish products since 1964. Much love to Karin Huber who designed these jewels for our kitchencabinet.

playboys

What a nice gathering for a Playboy-shoot in 1961. From left George Nelson, Edward Wormley, Eero Saarinen, Harry Bertoia, Charles Eames and Jens Risom.( via sfgirlbybay, via DWR)

Underwater love

Aqua Creations, established in '94, features the gorgeous lighting creations of designer and artist Ayala Serfaty.
Based in Tel-Aviv, Aqua Creations reaches worldwide with offices and showrooms around the world. You seriously need to surf their website- the lighting reminds me, not only of the obvious underwater-fauna, but also of asian 60's esthetics, probably because of the material choice, silk, and the colour scheme.

Dumbo

I love elephants, and I love Eames, but still..I feel like I should have a kid to excuse buying one of these darlings. The plywood elephant was designed in 1945, and Vitra produced a strictly limited edition, to celebrate the 100th birthday of Charles Eames (june 17,2007).

pillow state

I love these handembroidered pillows by Cat Studio via Tabula Tua. Enough said.

happy birthday to me..

I heart the componibili-series from Kartell. The series designed by Anna Castelli Ferrieri more than thirty years ago, are so versatile- they can be used for any purpose anywhere in your home. I finally got one, (a round small one) from my sister for my birthday, and I couldn't be happier- I use it as a nightstand and it's perfect! Thanks sis!

Julie Sandlau

Julie Sandlau has been a big success since Sandlau and her husband started the company in 2002, often spotted on RnB- celebrities, and loved by every girl wanting pretty, yet classy, accessories. Like Sandlau says herself "When I design jewlery I like to feel that the piece is something you might have found in your grandmothers treasure box in a wonderful old attic- those pieces that were once loved"

Jaime Hayon

I love when art and interiordesign merge together, and no one does it better these days than spanish artist/designer/genius Jaime Hayon. He works both with artistic installations as well as designing interior, but one is not separated from the other. His cartonesque take on traditional furniture is just what we need!
I want to show dozens of pictures of his stuff- cuz I love all of it. But click the link and surf trough his projects, good enough too eat!YUM!

Maija Louekari

speaking of Maija Louekari (previous post), isn't this a fun carpet? designed by miss Louekari for finnish carpetmaking label Forme. It's 80's-looking, but in a good way. It would be great for my hallway.

marimekko

here's a taste of Marimekko's autumn- fabrics, I love Maija Louekari's "kulkue"-fabric. Nice crisp colours and the characters looks like early Tove Janson-drawings.
The polarbear-print, "Jääkarhu", designed by Klaus Haapaniemi in 2001, have been put back in production - and is perfect for any kidsroom.
Go Finland!
